Wideband

The colors in this group are caused by the non-extension ("e") and wideband ("w") genes.

As you can see orange, red, and fawn have the same genotype. The difference in color comes from genes called modifier/rufus genes. Modifier genes are referred to as plus (+) and minus (-) genes. The more plus (+) genes a rabbit has the darker the color is (red). The less plus (+) genes and more minus (-) genes a rabbit has, the lighter the color is (fawn). Orange is in between red and fawn so, it has an equal combination of plus and minus genes.
